I am mostly involved with the public service side of amateur radio, through Holland Amateur Radio Club and Ottawa County Emergency Management. You might also see me at Field Day, or activating a state park for Parks on the Air. In 2024 I was appointed trustee of MiRATS, an online club for ham radio operators in Michigan.

Equipment
My mainstay for public service is a Yaesu VX8dr.
For field day and parks on the air, I'll usually be using a dated, but still effective IC-728. I have a variety of antennas to ujse with it, ranging from MFJ 10m and 20m folded dipoles, to a G5RV, to my latest acquisition, a Wolf River Coils TIA Mini.
Power is provided either by a gasoline generator or a Bioenno LiFePO4 battery
